  1. Tired of MSDOS and Windows?  Try the Yggdrasil Linux CDROM, a genuine
  2. Unix-like 32 bit operating system with full source code.  The current
  3. Linux is based on the 0.99.14 kernel, GCC 2.5.7, Xfree86 2.0 (X11R5)
  4. X windows, and hundreds of other programs.  You get 235 MB of
  5. binaries and 445 MB of source code.

  7. Among the programs you get on the Linux CDROM is the Andrew mail
  8. system which now has multimedia support for documents with embedded
  9. images, spreadsheets, hypertext links, etc.  Further, the regular
  10. mailer and news reader now also understand MIME multimedia mail.  In
  11. the X windows programming environment, Linux includes XView,
  12. OpenLook, the InterViews C++ toolkit, and the new extended Tk/Tcl.
  13. You get *two* multi-windowing versions of emacs: Emacs 19.22 and
  14. Lucid GNU Emacs 19.8.  Also new are the professional software
  15. reliability tools DejaGnu, Gnats, tkGnats, and RCS.

  18. are emulators, development tools, programming languages, a database
  19. system, communications software, desktop publishing and TeX software,
  20. text editors, multimedia viewers, sound support, ethernet networking
  21. software, and games.  You also receive a *free* copy of the Linux
  22. Journal with the disc and a month ($40 or 11 hours) of Internet shell
  23. access!

  25. You can install Linux on as little as 2 MB or as much as 680 MB of
  26. hard disk space.  A 60-page installation booklet and easy
  27. installation script guides you through the setup.  Set the system
  28. options with graphical "fill in the blank" control panels.  Linux can
  29. also share a hard disk with other operating systems on separate
  30. partitions.

  32. Linux runs on a 386 or above PC with 4 MB of RAM (8 MB without a swap
  33. partition), a SCSI CDROM drive and a VGA card.  It also supports SCSI
  34. tape drives, most commercial sound cards, and most commercial
